Ron Barendsen (MEd)

Ron Barendsen (MEd) graduated from Social Sciences and in Educational Sciences. He taught Geography in a number of lower secondary schools and has been the owner of a software company, developing educational games and simulations for public and educational institutions. For the past 20 years Ron has lectured Educational Sciences and e-pedagogy at NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands. As a specialist in Curriculum Design, e-pedagogy and Blended Learning Ron was and has been involved in a number of national and international projects with a focus on ICT’s, competency based learning, UDL and Design Thinking. Ron currently coordinates the NHL InnovationLab – together with his colleague Roelien Wierda - which is a unit focusing on Innovative practices and research in education. Besides, he is the co-founder of MySchoolsNetwork, an international social network for schools, moderated by student teachers.
